Here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis (and nationwide!), the rough and tumble Chevy Silverado has quite the fanbase. Last week, the Motor 1.com blog excitedly described the details of the new technology within the Silverado’s cabin, and also included details about the off-road ZR2 variant! The ZR2 will now be offered with the 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax turbo-diesel engine for the first time, cranking out 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. The ZR2’s standard engine was previously the 420 horsepower, 6.2 liter V8 that cranks out 460 lb-ft of torque. You can still count on a smaller-packaged punch coming from the 2.7-liter four-cylinder TurboMax engine, and Chevrolet did not list any new changes for the 5.3-liter V8. The 2024 Silverado is also now offered in Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate Gray Metallic, and its 6.2-liter V8 will feature active dual exhaust with Sport mode. The staff on duty at GM Authority just ran an awesome feature about the changes and updates the 2022 model will feature.
