Last week, the Motor 1.com blog excitedly described the details of the new technology within the Silverado’s cabin, and also included details about the off-road ZR2 variant! The ZR2 will now be offered with the 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax turbo-diesel engine for the first time, cranking out 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque.
The ZR2’s standard engine was previously the 420 horsepower, 6.2 liter V8 that cranks out 460 lb-ft of torque. You can still count on a smaller-packaged punch coming from the 2.7-liter four-cylinder TurboMax engine, and Chevrolet did not list any new changes for the 5.3-liter V8. The 2024 Silverado is also now offered in Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate Gray Metallic, and its 6.2-liter V8 will feature active dual exhaust with Sport mode.
