2023 Chevy Silverado Ready for New Year with Spotlight-Stealing Technology, Improved Interior

The Chevrolet Silverado is consistently earning accolades to solidify its status as a segment-leading contender. The Silverado reached its fourth generation in 2019, but completely reworked the truck this year with extra safety features, interior upgrades, and larger displays.

The 2023 model year provides some minor modifications, with trail-ready off-road capability and a powertrain variety that begins with a turbo-four and tops off with a champion-hauling diesel. The ZR2 Bison Variant brings the ingredients to conquer the trail with five protective skid plates and steel rock rails, showing up armed and dangerous for the muddy and exciting challenges ahead. The 3.0-liter turbo diesel now sees a jump in torque production up to 495 lb-ft, and you can pick from 10 trims, 3 bed configurations, and 3 cab sizes.

After the ZR2 made its debut last year, the even more off-road-ready ZR2 Bison has seen incredible attention to design and detail to properly compete with the F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX. The power source is the always-capable 6.2-liter V8 with four-wheel drive, and the partnership with AEV hooks you up with steel bumpers at both ends that feature integrated recovery points. The new model rolls on 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, ensuring you can climb any obstacle.

The entry-level engine is the 2.7-liter turbo-four boasting 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, providing a punchy and pleasurable drive and paired with an 8-speed automatic. We are admittedly huge fans of the efficient V8 for this legendary truck, with the 5.3-liter cranking out 355 horsepower and the 6.2-liter V8 bringing 420 horsepower.

While you are attempting to master skilled overlanding and rock crawling, ZR2 models include heavy-duty spool valves with separate variable compression profiles and piston-sensitive shocks that intelligently make necessary adjustments to handle the terrain. You’ll also be taking on your daily duties with one of the widest beds and superior cargo room in the segment, and the added convenience of the six-way motorized tailgate. Once you work your way above the LT trim, all models come with motorized front seats, lumbar support, and extra-durable cushioning.

The long family trip you’ve been planning will be incredibly comfortable with 43.4 inches of back legroom, extra storage compartments, and optional under-seat storage for long items such as skis! Standard features on lower trim levels are what customers have been asking for, and this year the Silverado delivers in supreme fashion with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bluetooth for two devices simultaneously. The 15 views courtesy of the surround-view camera are the ideal aid for trailering, allowing you to get a clear sightline before proceeding with the current demanding job at hand.
