Specialty Vehicles’ 2021 800-HP Supercharged Silverado Boasts Undisputed Claim as The Most Powerful GM Truck Available

Specialty Vehicle Engineering’s founder Ed Hamburger began his first performance parts business in 1970 after his resident expertise as a drag racer and induction into the NHRA NED Drag Racing Hall of Fame was a driving source of inspirational knowledge. He then began a unique business featuring a well-focused product line of the high-performance engine, suspension, and transmission components. His next exciting chapter saw the creation of Hamburger’s Oil Pan, which grew to become the dominant performance oil pan supplier in NASCAR Cup Racing and NHRA drag racing, seeing 85% of all cars sporting his specially-designed pans.

In 1987, Ed formed Street Legal Performance, which has since become Specialty Vehicle Engineering. After many great years of honing custom builds to perfection, all of us here at Jim Butler Chevy of St Louis have now been informed about their latest amazing venture, which is  the all-new 2021 YENKO/SC Silverado Off-Road Truck. The power is derived from a magnificent custom-built 800-horsepower 378 C.I.D. Supercharged LT-1 based engine. There will be 50 of these Limited Edition YENKO/SC trucks built, with the choice of the crew cab and double cab Custom models in 4WD.

In all ways a truck lover’s undeniably most-coveted holiday dream come true, these come with a heavy-duty performance-upgraded 6-speed automatic transmission, Brembo’s larger front brakes with piston calipers, a 4” lift kit, and HD rear sway bar to provide needed balance for the 800 hp supercharged engine. Unique features on the exterior include YENKO hood-insert made from OEM-quality high-impact composite, Off-Road ¼ panel graphics, Nitto Ridge Grappler LT295/60R20 off-road performance tires, and custom stamped-in YENKO/SC logo. Each of the 50 lucky owners will receive a numbered power badge, proper manufacturer’s  Certificate of Origin, and a 3-year/36.000-mile limited warranty.

It was back in August of 2013 that Specialty Engineering began working hard with a 2015 Silverado, starting with the task of creating its centrifugal supercharger. One year later, the brand-new centrifugal supercharger package for the Full-Size GM Trucks and SUVS entered its production phase, and saw inclusion in every SUV Supercharged Specialty Vehicle package, while still being offered now for multiple GM applications. We also kept an eye on this builder’s amazing work on the Camaro SS: they added the all-new 6.2-Liter 455 HP Direct Injection Engine, then driving it for a grand total of 4000 miles to meet necessary requirements before testing.

The standard Silverado truck that comes has many more than just 50 builds is available right here for a holiday test drive, featuring the wonderful 5.3-Liter and 6.2-Liter V8s as well as the awesome and efficient Duramax 3.0-liter I-6. Obtaining four out of five stars in the NHTSA’s overall safety rating, it also has new features in the form of jack-knife alert, lane-change trailer length indicator, and forward and reverse trailer side-view monitoring.
