1500 see style and tech updates; heavy duty line gets new towing equipment, 5th wheel package

Silverado 1500:
For Chevy’s light duty Silverado 1500, slight exterior changes have been made including a redesigned hood and lights. Available features such as chrome and LED lighting are there for those who want it, and additional safety technologies such as Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist and IntelliBeam high beam assist.
The tech gets boosted for the 2016 Silverado 1500 as Apple CarPlay and the just-confirmed Android Auto will be available on more Chevys than any other brand — and that includes the 1500 and HD lines. Other available convenience features for the new model year include a remote locking tailgate and wireless phone (available on LT and LTZ double cab and crew cab models with available bucket seats).
Under the hood, three advanced EcoTec engines are available for the 1500. Whether you choose the standard V6 or upgrade to the 5.3-liter for 6.2 V8, you will have either the best torque (V6), fuel efficiency (5.3-L) or towing (6.2-L) compared to other same-sized engines in its class.
Silverado 2500/3500:
The 1500’s big brothers have some changes up their sleeves for 2016 as well. While the 1500 saw a style upgrade for next year, the new heavy duty Silverados at Jim Butler Chevrolet upped their game with enhanced equipment. Tougher jobs are now made easier thanks to the help of some improvements and new features on the 2016 Silverado 2500 and 3500.
A new feature called Digital Steering Assist power steering (available on select double cab and crew cab models) can help make hauling easier and more confident. According to Chevrolet, electronic controls enhance stability on the highway regardless of whether the truck is loaded. It also offers greater responsiveness and an improved steering feel.
The new gooseneck/fifth wheel Trailering Prep Package will become available within the first quarter of 2016. Now, you can tow trailers much more easily with your new Silverado HD. This makes the Silverado 3500 a great choice for farmers and even as a family vehicle for the family that tows a lot. This features a frame-mounted hitch platform and tray that accommodates a gooseneck ball hitch or fifth wheel hitch mounting brackets.
