When you need a light-duty pickup for your everyday job, Jim Butler Chevrolet in St. Louis has the outstanding 2024 Silverado 1500 pickup the workforce needs.

Truck buyers in St. Louis and across the entire nation have been ramping it up a little bit in the “needs and wants” categories over the past few years, and it’s understandable. As many projects ramp up in the realm of construction, development, and agriculture, the rig you use to get the job done right needs to be rugged, able, and filled with modern features. The powertrain options are highlighted by a pair of ultra-strong V-8 engines, and this bad boy on the block has the ability to tow 13,300 pounds.

The 2024 model of the Silverado has undergone a complete redesign from the ground up offering 8 different model versions as well as six engine/transmission options. This includes the Silverado Trail Boss which was built with off-road in mind. The new Silverado is also bigger overall than its predecessor with a wheelbase up to 3.9 inches longer and the overall truck length stretches about 1.6 inches longer, that means more space everywhere. It comes with a redesigned HD Rear Vision Camera, Rear Camera Mirror and HD Surround Vision.

Many will be pleased that the new model comes in at 450 pounds lighter than its predecessor due to the use of a mixture of different materials including a boxed steel frame weighing in 88 pounds less than the previous model. The Silverado doesn’t sacrifice anything from its overall weight decrease either as the steel bed of the pick-up sees an increase in strength from 340 to 500 MPa of pressure.

A segment-exclusive power tailgate and 120-volt outlet mounted on the bed is available and the payload is higher on most models. The payload increase includes a 14 percent raise in payload for all crew cab models. The new Silverado comes with 12 fixed tie-downs which have also doubled in strength withstanding up to 500 pounds of force.

The 6.2L V-8  features the Dynamic Fuel Management system which comes standard expanding the cylinder-deactivation capabilities which will optimize the performance and fuel efficiency of the Silverado. An available Duramax® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel makes Silverado America’s most fuel efficient pickup, with 23 MPG city and 33 highway.

Now that we’ve gotten familiar with some of the new features of the 2024 Silverado, let’s break down the different models and trim levels that are offered:

The Work Truck features a “CHEVROLET” graphic plastered across the grille and tailgate and the rock-solid power of a standard 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine. You can also choose the available 2.7L Turbo or 5.3L EcoTec3 V8. There is also blacked-out trim and 17-inch steel wheels as well as a comfortable interior that can have either vinyl or cloth seats and includes the fantastic Chevrolet Infotainment system sporting a 7-inch diagonal color touch screen.

Moving on to the Custom featuring body-color styling theme with 20-inch painted aluminum wheels, taillamps that illuminate with LED lights and the choice of an integrated dual exhaust are all the awesome features of this version.
